Hepatitis C is the most common blood-borne infection in the United States. And Kentucky ranks first in new infections. Between 2004-2014, hepatitis C infections increased 400%. People infected with chronic viral hepatitis C are often unaware of their status for as long as 10 to 20 years and are unknowing carriers for continued spread of the virus. Most people with hepatitis C have no recognized risk factor for acquiring the virus, and the virus often causes no symptoms until advanced liver disease develops. Consequences of untreated hepatitis C virus include cirrhosis, liver failure, liver cancer, and death. Hepatitis C can be transmitted from mother-to-baby.

That's why on World Hep Day, Sunday July 28  we will be offering free Hep C screenings. Stop by from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at one of the following 13 locations:
